“It’s exciting to know that the benefits of Virtual Reality education can now effectively reach into every classroom, across cultures and around the world.”

Tulsa, OK – May 24, 2019 – 3Dream Studios is pleased to announce that it has received the United States Distance Learning Association’s (USDLA) Global Impact Award, alongside Oral Roberts University, at the USDLA 2019 National Conference in Nashville, TN. The award considers global impact, the range of influence and cultural diversity for noteworthy projects.
3Dream Studio’s collaboration with Oral Roberts University (ORU) began in 2017, following the creation of ORU’s launch of a Global Learning Center, located in Tulsa, OK. ORU’s visionary work in the field, combined with 3Dream Studio’s technology expertise, helped the two organizations realize the impact that could be possible with the creation of a Virtual Reality (VR) platform that could open access and opportunity to more educators and students worldwide.
“Our collaboration with ORU was a natural connection for us to gather the understanding and clarity needed from educators to develop a system that would promote student engagement,” said David Keesee, President of 3Dream Studios. 3Dream Studios has since launched a Virtual Reality Education System — VRES™ — that can be integrated into online and campus environments.
In 2018, 3Dream Studios began working with Laureate International Universities, a global leader in Higher Education, on the creation of a Virtual Reality Education Center which is now offered through its OneCampus® by Laureate global learning platform. This repository of virtual reality learning objects, inspired by the work done at Oral Roberts University, is designed to provide faculty across a network of institutions with the opportunity to create rich, immersive learning experiences without the need for any special hardware or devices. Students benefit from VR digital learning experiences that can be accessed via computer or smart phone for any students on campus or online.
We’re extremely pleased to be able to offer highly engaging VR resources to our students and faculty across the globe,” said Wendy Colby, Unit Vice President of Global Product Management & Innovation at Laureate. “We now have access to thousands of VR objects, which our faculty can use to support and enrich their academic curriculum. Our early results from faculty indicate they are seeing greater interest and involvement from students in these more immersive, real-world experiences.”
